Ambassador Mohamed Sahnoun endorses NP

Renowned diplomat, Mohamed Sahnoun has joined the growing list of world leaders endorsing Nonviolent Peaceforce.  After meeting with NP representatives in July at the Caux Forum on Human Security, chaired by Mr. Sahnoun, he observed, “"We had an unarmed group in Somalia and they did fantastic work."  In addition to serving as UN Special Representative in Somalia in 1992, Mr. Sahnoun, a former Algerian ambassador, has served as Deputy Secretary General to both the Arab League and the Organization of African Unity.  He also was the Special Advisor to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and co-chaired the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty.
