Insight Trips

Nonviolent Peaceforce Insight Trips offer an unparalleled opportunity to experience other cultures in depth and to witness the work of Nonviolent Peaceforce first-hand. Unique among travel experiences, these 14- or 21-day excursions to NP project sites offer a deeper understanding of our work and our vision.

NP Insight Trips include:

  • Orientation to NP and to the regional project;
  • Personal visits and interviews with local leaders;
  • Meetings with local NP Member Organizations;
  • Historical and cultural visits;
  • Training in the principles of nonviolent action;
  • Meeting members of NP's international leadership and peacekeeping teams.

Participants often become our most articulate advocates, promoting the value of unarmed peacekeeping and the effectiveness of strategic nonviolent action. Many are more involved in community outreach and education after their return.

Trip registration fees cover a traveler's in-country expenses and shared costs toward staff expenses. International air travel is not included in the registration fee. People who wish to join an Insight Trip and cannot afford the registration fee are encouraged to fundraise for their expenses. Sorry, scholarships are not available from NP at this time.
