International Protection Officer – Jonglei Emergency Response Juba, South Sudan
Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic international, non-governmental organization which works to reduce violence and protect civilians in situations of violent conflict and its aftermath, mostly through the deployment on the ground of multinational teams of civilians.
In response to the recent escalation of violent conflict in Jonglei State in South Sudan the Government of South Sudan has declared Jonglei a disaster zone. The violence conflict has resulted in the displacement of over 120,000 people, destruction of property, loss of livelihoods, trauma wounds and fatalities. Tensions remain high and protection needs are manifold. NP South Sudan is conducting a rapid recruitment process in order to prepare three protection teams for deployment into Jonglei to work on direct protection and stabilization in these fragile areas.
NP is hiring committed, professional International Protection Officers to implement this challenging project.
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide emergency protection and monitoring to communities affected by the recent violence in Jonglei State that has resulted in the displacement of over 120,000 people and hundreds of deaths and traumatic injuries.
