My story of volunteering with NP

"After a career in social services, my retirement brought several volunteer jobs, peace rallys and protests into my life. All of these experiences in my life have increased my awareness of the extent of human rights violations, abductions, torture, murders and conflicts around the world.

Reading about the work of  Nonviolent Peaceforce was like a breath of fresh air for me. I discovered that there IS a different approach to fighting and violence and it IS effective! The work of the dedicated, trained peacekeepers from Nonviolent Peaceforce gives me hope for the future of our world. That hope has been like a magnet that has drawn me into the NP family as a volunteer. From this perspective I can follow the growth and progress of this fantastic organization, as well as contibute in some way to fulfilling it's mission."
