The mission of Nonviolent Peaceforce is to promote, develop and implement unarmed civilian peacekeeping as a tool for reducing violence and protecting civilians in situations of violent conflict.

Our peacekeeping work typically involves a commitment of two years in one of our field programmes and/or to be available for such short-term assignments as reducing election-related violence or providing protective accompaniment for human rights defenders in vulnerable areas.

NP’s programme and office teams are complemented by professionals and support staff in a range of functions such as finance, communications, fundraising, logistics, security and human resources.
