Internships

NP Internships contribute to the global civilian peacekeeping movement while providing firsthand experience in the workings of an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO).  Interns work out of NP Brussels and Minneapolis and with San Francisco staff on projects including fundraising support, campaigns, events, public relations and communication.  All internships are unpaid.

NP, MY DRIVING INSPIRATION

"Being a child I was sure any quarrel or conflict could be worked out. Year after year I wondered why people choose to fight where there is always the chance to live in peace. Then I grew up realising how people run their own agendas, and how sometimes, they won’t change their direction, even if it crushes others.

As I graduated as a journalist I decided that I would like to do something for the people by myself. Nonviolent Peaceforce is the organisation I was meant to find. It pursues a nonviolent conflict resolution approach with a healthy prevention of conflicts’ repercussions as well.

At NP I am surrounded by people who take action in alleviating other’s hardship. My colleagues aren’t satisfied by merely listening to other’s grievances and sharing their pain; they take a precious step further by helping others out on the best of their capacities.  Is that not what humanity needs nowadays?"
