How Nonviolent Peaceforce is Funded

Over ninety percent of the funding for NP's civilian peacekeeping activities comes from four key sources. Additional revenue is comes from businesses, dues paid by NP Member Organizations, and interest and dividend income.

Individual donations
Individual donations typically constitute over half of the operating revenue for NP. In 2007, over 3000 individuals donated more than US$1.5 million, or 52.5 percent of NP's revenue for the year.

Government grants
Grants from government agencies such as UNICEF, the Canadian International Development Agency, and Cordaid (Netherlands) totaled more than US$860,000 in 2007.

Foundation grants
The support of foundations in several countries is crucial to continuing the work of NP. Foundation grants totaled over US$189,000 in 2007.

Churches, congregations, and religious foundations
Religious communities provide substantial ongoing support. Nearly US$150,000 was received in 2007 from religious organizations.
